Probably, if you’ve been a long time reader, you’ll have stopped stopping by on my blog by now. I used to post twice, or even three times a week, each week, for five years. And despite my best efforts, 2012 has been the least posted year in… years. It’s on track to be the least posted year in my blog’s history, and there’s an important reason for this.
My circumstances didn’t allow for it.
I was working a job I didn’t like, with days that were too long, and with such draconian internet rules, I had no ability to post onto the blog. And, despite sitting at the desk all day reading and calculating, I used to use my time after work to write too, but with a longer commute and a fiancée that I live with, time after work became even more precious, replaced by actually talking to each other. Even my flat in Aberdeen was dreadful for writing, not having a desk or table and having to sit hunched over a coffee table or write in my lap never helped me write. Couple that with the dreadful Macbook keyboard and key strokes being missed every 6th word, it really sapped my energy for it. Not being able to write at work and not being able to write at home has been the death knell of this blog.
However, all is not lost, and this is not a farewell post. Not at all. In fact, this is the last time I’ll be not posting. Y’see, my new office in Glasgow allows access to my blog. It also is closer to home. And despite having a puppy to look after, we now have a dining table which will help with the need to write.
And I still have the need to write. My head has been exploding. I have ideas, sketches, all over the place. And, in time, I’ll be back to normal.
I like to think that in any ending is all just a new beginning.
